Room Tour 2015 + Decor Inspiration!

I can't believe I have finally posted my Room Tour; the video is finally live over on my YouTube channel, so here is the matching blogpost!
Some people think that it is weird to film a tour of your room, because of privacy and invasion, but I don't (if you feel weird about this, don't worry, it's OK! ). I filmed this because I wanted to give you some live inspiration; it's hard to decorate a room and knowing where to start is always the worst part. Hopefully what I have achieved with my room ( which is pretty simple and cheap in comparison to some room tours) can give you some design ideas as well as knowledge of products currently available in homeware stores, especially the cheaper ones.

I think that homeware in the UK is as good as the choice I have seen in the States, especially outside of London. But, if you go to the right places, you can get a bargain and high quality products.
My favourite four homeware stores are Homebase, Primark, Wilkinson and George at Asda. All four are extremely cheap, popular across the country and carry more or less the same stock in all their stores. However, my all time favourite store is TIGER. It is a rare one, but if you have one nearby, you will know that it has disgustingly cheap stuff that look Pinterest & Insta worthy at half the price.

I have linked as much of the products in my room as possible but most of my items were bought from sites that do not carry products on their websites. Enjoy!

Room theme: White and black with turquoise and gold accents

This area was the hardest to plan although to the eye it looks pretty simple. I wanted somewhere to put my " Getting Ready everyday" stuff, but also somewhere to put all my ideas, now that I don't have to fill my room with assignments and textbooks. I more or less split my vanity in two, with beauty on the right and stationery on the left. All that's missing is a chair, but I  like standing to get ready- it makes me move a bit faster! My favourite part of this area is the inspiration board because- of course- it changes with my mood and the season!

My bedspace isn't that fancy so I think its safe to say my wall makes up for it! This is by far one of my favourite things to look at. I can honestly say that there is nothing more encouraging for me than to see my favourite scripture on the wall hanging over my head to remind me to trust in God. The best thing about it is that it is completely unique to me, because I designed it- this is why DIY is king! My friends love this wall art idea and so do I!

I'm going to be bold and say that my bedside table deserves a spot on Pinterest somewhere ( you can pin it if you want, ahem!) This is the first thing I see in the morning and the sight of my BE KIND! sign anMorning Sunshine mug remind me to wear a smile as soon as I get out of bed. I like having something "going on" on my bedside, but I also like functionality which is why I had to DIY a catch-all for my phone, glasses and other bits and bobs I need to grab.

Window and wall decorations finish off a blank space quite well and as you can see, this is where I like to put my sentimental pieces such as pictures, cards and memories. Washing line picture displays are pretty cheap and easy to make and work really well if you have an awkward sized wall that looks a little naked. I highly recommend SquareSnaps if you want to print your Instagram posts- in fact! I have a mini review if you would like to know more!

Let's be honest- cupboards don't get love because they are always shut. I have this space in my far closet with an ugly grey storage unit that is broken. I decided to make it an open space ( I would have removed the door if it wasn't a rented house!) where I keep some of my go-to products on-top of the unit, almost like a dresser. And I managed to make it look a bit better by covering it in wrapping paper. See, DIY room decor can be cheap!

So, that is my room!
