July Glossybox 2013 (Pictures + Review)

I know that I am a little bit late on this post, but I thought I'd share what I received in this month's Glossybox. If you have been followers of mine for some time, you will know that I have been getting Glossybox one and off since it was first released.
I have a love hate relationship with this box, and only recently I felt that I wanted to give it another go- and this month has certainly impressed me.

I completely love the idea of a new theme each month, and I feel that Glossybox definitely chose the best ones. This month is the 'Seaside Splash' edition to help you to 'transform into the ultimate beach babe'

The packaging of this box is bea-u-tiful. I raved about it in my July Favourites video, and as with all the boxes, I will have to find something extra special to do with it

This month there are a couple of well known and also some unknown products to try.

Spray Misty for me Facial Spritz
I have already tried out some of these products and my favourite has to be this one. I have never heard of Anatomicals, so when I saw it in the box, I was a little apprehensive. However, some google-ing and oogling later, I decided that it was well worth trying. The products has the most amazing 'cool me down now' refreshing feeling- this must be due to the lavender and peppermint extracts which will help to rehydrate and calm skin. I am thinking that not only is this great for setting make-up, but also as a make-up base to calm those pimples, a refresher during transport and a reviver when the sun is beating down.
Needless to say that I will be repurchasing this when I have finished.
PS. Can we also appreciate the amazing picture of Clint Eastwood on the back!

Sleek Stick on Nail Wraps '03 So Haute'
This instantly caught my attention ( I am a huge Essie fan at the moment) as I have heard so many good reviews about the brand, particularly their nail wraps. Although the likes of Sally Hansen and Revlon also offer nail wraps, I love the packaging and feel of the ones from Essie. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the colour choice and I feel that these wraps would benefit someone of a much lighter skin tone than me, which is a shame.

Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist
As well as being quite a mouthful, this product seems to claim a lot for such a small innocent looking product. It will supposedly add texture, volume and shine to hair an at the same time give the user that famous mermaid style wave. It looks intriguing, but again, this is not a product I want/am able to use.

Mineral Unscented face Sunscreen
Thanks to Michelle Phan, I have been on the hunt for sunscreen. May I just point out that this is my first time in history where I have been concerned about protecting my skin from the sun rays. As a black girl, I have always been told that I was 'made for the sun'. But this little gem has become a staple in my bag ever since I laid eyes on it. The one thing I don't agree with is the white cast it leaves on my skin. This is because it is a physical sunscreen, which means it acts as a barrier to the skin ( thank you, Michelle!) The cast is more obvious on my skin than on Asian or Caucasian skin, but if I rub enough, it will eventually blend in.

Pout Paint 'Cloud'
If anyone is thinking 'What?' right now, I agree.
I saw this and was immediately confused. This is a silver ( not white) lip pigment, which is supposed to mixed with other Pout Paints to create unique shades. It is a nice idea, but I have a feeling this will end up in the discarded make-up pile, or on the web on my EBay page very soon.

Pout Paint 'Rosette'
This Pout Paint on the other hand, I feel I can work with. It looks like any other hot pink colour, which I think will be perfect for the summertime. I have already given this a go; I have found it to me somewhat streaky, however, you only need a tiny bead. It is crazy pigmented, which to be honest, is the way all Sleek products are.

O V E R A L L  T H O U G H T S
I have received a lot of Glossyboxes during my subscription with them and this one ranks as one of the highest in terms of contents. The packaging alone is worth my £10.00 a month, but to get 4 full sized products makes it much more worth while.
This box may have just given Glossy another tenner for next month.

Thank you for reading this post.
